A move to the Council owned Irongates Field at the top of Cornwall road came next and, despite occasional bouts of vandalism to the square and pavilion, the club managed some pretty successful years in the 1960's and '70's.
The square was rather unpredictable, the infamous incident of a fast bowler pitching one short and the ball took off; clearing the batsman, the wicket-keeper and the boundary for 6 byes!!

By the mid-'80's a final devastating act of vandalism saw the pavilion burn down and the club decided enough was enough.
