North Stainley  v   Pannal Ash

After nearly a month of rain (I knew we shouldn't have bought the new chairs for the ground!!), we faced a trek north of Ripon, near Lightwater Valley, to play North Stainley.

An Ash side with only 6 regulars were put in to bat on a green, uneven track; progress was slow, but James Thompson (19), Rob Clarke (14), New McClelland (40) and Mark Taylor (56) worked hard before some lusty blows at the end from Andy Whiteley (15 no) and Dan Turner (16 no) took us to a respectable 201 for 8 wickets.

A good tea was enjoyed by all as we looked to carry on the good work.

The Stainley reply was dominated by ex-Ripley man James Hopkins (90) with good support from Darren Wass (28) and Charlie Lamb (27 no).

This was a great toss to win, the track improved as it dried out as the Ash bowlers toiled in the sun, wickets for Ned McClelland, Mark Taylor and James Thompson.

Next week it's top of the table Galphay and Winksley with some more regulars in the line up and a chance of an upset .............
