It's been a long time since we lost 3 in a row and a determined Ash squad met at the Claro Beagle and travelled over together to the picturesque Ripon ground.
We won the toss and decided to bat first; a change in the batting order saw Ali Bowles (50) enjoying his elevated status, skipper Rob Clarke at 6 with 52 not out but, in particular, Joe Buckley hitting the ball HUGE distances on the way to a spectacular 81.
A final total of 280 for 6 a much better performance.
A fabulous tea was taken, thankfully the bowlers didn't over-indulge too much - the fielders probably did though!
The Ripon batsmen couldn't cope as regular wickets fell to Ali Bowles, Ned McClelland and Allan Toole, with Mark Taylor (4 for 16) enjoying success with the ball as only R Cassells (33), A Craggs (26), N Robson (24) and P Seldon (24 not out) made double figures.
The innings closed at 138 for a large victory, 6 points and, hopefully, a shot of confidence before we meet last year's nemesis ........ Lofthouse and Middlesmoor next week .
