We don't lose many games at home, so after the heartbreak of a one run defeat last week, we were back at Bluecote Wood for a fixture with another established side in Division 4, Galphay & Winksley.
A change in the line-up at wicket-keeper saw the landlord of the Harlow Inn, Andy Whiteley, replace Neil Laurence, who was in Las Vegas - let's hope his judgment at the roulette table is better than his run calling!
Skipper Rob Clarke lost the toss we we were put in to bat first, only Mark Taylor (29) and a late knock from youngster Adam Firth (20) saw us all out for 137.
We needed an early breakthrough which came from Joe Buckley grabbing Eddie Walmsley (6) and Rob Taylor (14) with support from Ali Bowles who snared Neil Todd (23) and Mark Pitt (2).
Our worries that we were perhaps 20 runs short were well founded as Graham Bassitt (48) took his side within touching distance before bowlers Mark Rimmer (8 not out) and Tom Orton (6 not out) saw them home.
S0, 3 defeats on the trot and some thinking to do before we travel to Ripon 2nds next week .....
