On a Tuesday night, Boroughbridge away with a 6.30 pm start isn't most team's choice of venue, but we had selected a pretty strong side to face a struggling team from the division below.
We had a good start with all eleven at the ground, we won the toss and skipper James Thompson decided to bat, and then it went downhill from there ..................
After the loss of opener Mike Yarwood (0) in the first over, we saw Rob Clarke (28) and Ned McClelland (15) take us to 34 before Ned was caught, but we then saw a regular fall of wickets as no-one else reached double figures.
The innings closed at 66 all out.
We needed to make early inroads into the 'Bridge batting line up, but 2 dropped catches let them off the hook. An array of cross batted shots and wayward bowling kept he scoreboard moving along with only spinner Matt Hanson (2 for 9) giving the batsmen something to think about.
A 7 wicket defeat, the first of the season, saw us crash out of the cup.
