Pannal Ash  v   Pateley Bridge 2nds

Following the off-field problems this week, it was great to get back to on-field matters with a home fixture against pateley bridge.  This is the start of the second half of the season, and we were keen to continue the good form.

Pateley, unfortunately, were suffering from a number of key player absences, so Ash skipper, James Thompson, took the opportunity to give the opposition first chance on a decent looking track.

The Ash players minds were quickly concentrated by Mark taylor's first over being spanked for ten runs as Stuart Jauncey (14) tried to make a name for himself.

At the other end, Joe Buckley (2 for 7) was superb with the batsmen unable to cope with his fast and straight bowling and took the first wicket on 17.

By this time, Ned McClelland (3 for 14) had replaced Mark at the Nursery End, and with Joe, reduced the 9 men to 28 for 5 before Mark (2 for 14) returned to finish things off for a total of 38 all out.

We took the opportunity to change the batting order round a bit, unfortunately a few wickets went down as Stuart Jauncey (4 for 9) made a few hearts flutter.

We were thankful for Richard Turner's (16 not out) to take us through to a 5 wicket victory.

A great tea from El Prez's wife finished things off nicely and put us in good heart for the coming weeks.
